There are few good examples in the surrounding culture of how to be a man. Where are you going to look? Who is going to teach you? An actor? A musician? A politician? An athlete? Which one? You may not be able to find an example of manhood worthy of emulation among your peers. Perhaps, your father has not set the example. Or, perhaps, you are estranged from him.
You need older men, at least twenty years older, to teach you Christian manhood—what Jesus taught and what Jesus lived. You need older men to live it out before you. You need men you can ask questions when they come up.
