How to be a man according to the Man.

More exhortation from Paul’s second book: 1 Thessalonians.

“Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another, for that indeed is what you are doing to all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more…”

First Paul praises the brothers in the church because they love each other like family. They live like brothers. Then he urges them to go deeper into this camaraderie with these brothers. Do you live in a brotherhood like this? This is what real Christianity offers young men.

Then he adds more directions that every young man needs. This is the life you need to seek today. This is how you journey from immaturity to manhood.

“Aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders [outside the brotherhood of the church] and be dependent on no one.”
