Then the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon him, and the ropes that were on his arms became as flax that has caught fire, and his bonds melted off his hands. And he found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, and put out his hand and took it, and with it he struck 1,000 men.
Christ is still sending the Spirit of the Lord (the same Holy Spirit described above) on young men in 2025. He sends the Holy Spirit to set you on fire and give you strength. The Spirit changes your mind and makes you obedient to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lion of Judah. Just as an ordinary man without the Spirit can’t kill a unit of soldiers with a jawbone, an ordinary man without the Spirit can’t obey Christ. You need the Spirit daily to be a man of God.
Paul wrote: “For the mind that is set on the flesh [“flesh” does not mean the physical body but the evil impulses in us] is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.“
